TWO WORDS GAMEPLAY

The aim of Two Words is to score more points than your opponent in your head to head match. Creating multiple words is the best way to score lots of points. You can change your opponents word, make horizontal and vertical words and extend words. All of your letters will need to be in the same line for them to be valid.

SCORING

Each letter has a point value associated with it. Your score is the sum of the letters times the length of the word.

You score half points for a word that you change and full points for any new words that you make.

Letters have different point values:

1 Point - A, D, E, I, N, O, R, S, T
2 Points - G, M, P, U
3 Points - B, C, F, H, L, W, Y
4 Points - K, V
5 Points - J
6 Points - Q, X, Z

NEW GAME

Here you can start a new game against another online player or against one of our bots.

By choosing to play an online opponent you will be matched into the most recently made game. If there are no waiting games, then you will play the first turn in a new game and will be matched with the next person who looks to start a new game.

If you want to play a bot, there are four to try your hand against. They vary in difficulty, ranging from Easy all the way through to Expert!

Playing bots is a faster version of the game, as they will play their turns in a few seconds. The list of bots are:

Theo - Easy (Sticks to simple words - a nice introduction to the game)
Thea - Challenging (Not too easy, but not too hard - a step up from Theo)
Wordsworth - Hard (A tough opponent - noticeably harder than Thea)
Susie Bot - Very Hard (The ultimate challenge - Susie is a genius!)

CHALLENGES

Challenges is where you can find all of your incoming game invites. As you play the game, you will start to appear in other player’s For You page. If they think you might be a good opponent then they’ll send you a challenge for a game. This area will be empty if you haven’t received a challenge from another player

FOR YOU

Here you can find a curated list of online players to choose from. We give each suggestion a percentage match score. The higher the percentage, the better kind of opponent they are for you. It’s a good place to find an opponent of a similar skill level to you!

REPLAY RIVALS

This is where you can find all of the players you have previously completed games against. Anyone that you finish a match with will automatically be added to the Replay Rivals section. You can find them here and challenge them to another game whenever you please!
