Core Game

The aim of the game is to progress through all of the map levels and guess as many Catchphrases as you can along the way.

Each Level is represented by one Bonus Catchphrase. To complete the Level, you must find the answer to the Bonus Catchphrase. Don’t worry if you can’t answer it, you can go back to the map and come back to it later.

There are fantastic collections of Prizes and Mr Chips cards that you can collect by playing various modes such as Bonus Catchphrase and Speed Catchphrase.

The rules of the game are as you’d expect to see on TV. Say what you see! Get the Catchphrases correct in order to move along the map.

Standard Catchphrases

You will encounter many Standard Catchphrases as you play through the game.

These Catchphrases are shown to you uncovered and you may use Boosters to help you to guess the answer.

Correct words will turn green as they are completed and you cannot submit an answer unless you have correctly guessed all the words.

If you do not know the answer you may Skip.

Correctly guessing Standard Catchphrases will reward you with coins as well as Event currency when an Event is active.

Every time you correctly guess a Standard Catchphrase you will be given a chance to guess the Bonus Catchphrase.

Bonus Catchphrases

Bonus Catchphrases are just as they appear in the show, you must remove the tiles that cover the Catchphrase and guess it correctly.

The tile to be uncovered will be chosen at random unless you use a Booster that allows you to manually select the tile that you would like to reveal.

Initially it will be very hard to guess with only a few uncovered tiles. If you do not know the answer, you can press “I don’t know yet” to pass your turn and be taken to play another Standard Catchphrase.

You will be returned to the same Bonus Catchphrase after each Standard Catchphrase completed until all the tiles are revealed. Once all the tiles are revealed, if you still don’t know the answer, you can come back and guess at a later time. Go back to the Map to move onto the next Bonus Catchphrase.

Bonus Catchphrases will sometimes have prizes hidden behind tiles when you remove them.

There are no Boosters allowed in Bonus Catchphrase games.

Speed Catchphrases

Speed Catchphrase is a timed game mode that appears every few Levels.

Speed Catchphrases have prizes that can be won as part of the completion reward. The faster you guess the Speed Catchphrase the better your prizes will be.

The prizes are marked on the timer bar. As the timer bar decreases it will pass the prize markers. Try to complete your answer above all the prize markers to get maximum rewards.

There is full Booster usage available in this mode, in addition to the 3 Boosters available in Standard Catchphrases, there are two new ones that are exclusively available only in Speed Catchphrases. Both of these Boosters affect the timer bar and can be the difference between getting the top prize and not!

Speed Catchphrases are one of the best places to earn Mr Chips card packs for free. You must achieve the top prize to earn one!

Prize Collection

As you play through the game you will collect prizes from behind tiles in Bonus Catchphrases. Each prize has a monetary value attached to it. The monetary value is important for completing weekly Challenges.

The prizes are split into 5 categories:

Technology, Automotive, Movies, Food and Travel

There are 3 prize rarities:

Common (Green), Rare (Blue) and Very Rare (Pink)

You will need to collect a certain number of the Very Rare prizes in each category to unlock a special Mr Chips card.

Collecting as many prizes as you can is essential for unlocking this award. The more excess prizes you earn, the more you can Trade up your prizes for better ones.

Prize Trading

You can trade your excess prizes in to earn a prize of the next rarity up.

Common (Green) items can be combined to trade for one Rare (Blue) item
Rare (Blue) items can be combined to trade up for a Very Rare (Pink) item

The amount of items needed to trade up will vary depending on the rarity.

You can Trade items by selecting an excess prize and pressing Trade. Note that if you have excess prizes available you will see a notification on the tab headers to let you know there are others that you can trade.

You can only combine items of the same rarity. You cannot combine Common and Rare items in a trade.

Any trade will cost some coins to complete.

Mr Chips Cards

Mr Chips Cards are a fantastic new collection of cartoons depicting Mr Chips performing various professions or hobbies.

There are 4 different rarities:

Rare (Blue), Very Rare (Pink), Legendary (Orange) and Event (Orange)

Mr Chips Cards can be earned through Speed Catchphrases, Weekly Challenges and through the Shop.

Each Mr Chips card comes with an interesting piece of trivia on the reverse of the card. You can view this at any time by pressing on one of your collected cards and using the arrows to view the reverse.

Mr Chips cards carry a monetary value that contributes to Weekly Challenges.

There are over 30 Mr Chips Cards to collect!

Events

There are 4 Events currently in the game and each will cycle periodically. Make sure to earn their prizes while they are active!

The 4 events are:

Wild West, Adventure, Ocean and Space

During an Event you will earn Event currency. This Event currency can be used to open Event chests. These chests will contain a random Event specific prize. You must Earn Event prizes in order to unlock the 2 special Mr Chips Cards that come with each Event!

The Event currencies are as follows:

Sheriff’s Badges (Wild West), Compasses (Adventure), Anchors (Ocean), Rockets (Space)

You can only spend your Event currency whilst the Event is active. You will not be able to spend any excess Event currency for a particular Event until it becomes active again.

Weekly Challenges

Weekly Challenges are a great way to earn prizes and Mr Chips Cards.

You will be able to see your progress towards any active Challenges as you go. In order to earn the Weekly Mr Chips card, you must complete all of the other Challenges.

Make sure you complete them all so you don’t miss out!

Boosters

There are 6 Boosters in the game. 3 are available in Standard Catchphrases and 5 are available in Speed Catchphrases. There is 1 Booster that is used for selecting your tile in the Bonus Catchphrase.

The 3 Boosters available in Standard Catchphrase are:

Random Letter - Shows a random letter in a random word
First Letter - Shows the first letter of a random word
Random Word - Shows a complete random word

The 5 Boosters available in Speed Catchphrases are:

Random Letter - Shows a random letter in a random word
First Letter - Shows the first letter of a random word
Random Word - Shows a complete random word
Add Time - Adds some time to the timer
Freeze Timer - Freezes the timer for a while

The one Booster that isn’t related to gameplay is:

Select Tile - Select a tile on the Bonus Catchphrase grid

All Boosters can be bought within game for coins as well as in the Shop.

Coins

You will earn coins for every completed Catchphrase.

You will have the option to double your coin rewards in some places in the game by watching a video.

Coins can be used to spend on Boosters, Trading upgrades, Prizes and Mr Chips Card packs.

Shop

The Shop is where you will find all the latest and best deals.

There are Bundles that include multiple items, Boosters, Coins, Mr Chips Card Packs and Limited Time Offers.

Limited Time Offers will cycle every few days and allow you to purchase some of the rarer prizes missing from your collection by using Coins.
